Today’s Update

Jodi here… I spoke with Karen this morning and everyone is doing well. I read to her all the well wishes that everyone posted to her. Thank You! Karen is blissfully enjoying Allison and on her road to recovery. Allison is sleeping and eating just great (burping and pooing too which is exiciting news when you have a new baby!) Holly I am sure is loving all the playtime with her Daddy and Grandparents and Steve is holding down the fort. Family Pictures

Friends of mine set up a photo session for our family.  It was gifted to me in September but with Steve having surgery in October, we never got around to doing it.  Now that he’s in his last days, we knew we had to make it happen.  The photographer was kind enough to come to our house and work with us in taking some pictures. I dressed us all in blue for colon cancer.  And I love the results.  We will treasure these photos forever!

Boxes and more Boxes……….

We still have boxes.  It’s been almost 2 months but the girls rooms still have boxes in them.  IT doesn’t look like this anymore..  (Allison popped up from behind a box when I snapped the picture!) ….but the boxes in the back corner that you see in that picture are still not unpacked.  The problem is they are full of toys – toys that they probably don’t need since they haven’t played with them in like 3 months considering they were packed up before we moved. Why do they have so many toys?  Because I can’t resist myself.  I see something they will like and I find a way to get it.   In my defense, a lot of the toys are for review on the…

A Trip to the Disney Store at the Emerald Square Mall

While I was in California for the premiere of PLANES, I had a chance to visit the Disney store.  It was so beautiful and I love walking through that store.  We used to have one at the Warwick Mall but after the flood a few years ago, they never came back to the mall.  So the closest one is at the Emerald Square mall.  When I told Holly and Allison that I went to the Disney Store while in California, they asked if we could go to one someday before the summer was over.  Of course I said yes. Allison’s Cursive Writing

Allison wants to learn everything Holly learns.  When Holly was learning to do math in Kindergarten, Allison learned to do math.  When Holly was learning to count by 5’s and 10’s.  Allison learned.  Allison then figured out how to count by 2’s just by the logic that it was every other number, no one taught her. Allison is smart, and hopefully will continue to enjoy learning new things as she gets older and won’t push school work aside for something else.  Holly is in 2nd grade now and she is learning to write cursive and is loving it.  Holly has very neat printing and her cursive is looking to be neat as well.  She’s still working on it.
