Saying Good Night to Daddy….

Since we became parents, Steve has always given the girls a good night hug in kiss once they were in bed.  It’s just something he always made sure he did.  It sounds trivial, but it was important to him to kiss them good night and remind them how much he loved them.  HE LOVED THEM SO MUCH! Tonight the girls said good night to daddy for the last time at home. Tomorrow Steve will be transferred to a Hospice Home where he can be cared for by people who can make him more comfortable than we can here. Uncle Mark’s Visit

We were so sad when our friends Mark & Sue moved to Florida almost 4 years ago.  But we knew that was where they wanted to be and this time they weren’t coming back.  It was sad to say good bye to them, but we had too. Last October we were able to spend the day with them at The Magic Kingdom during our trip to Florda.  We had a great time and we couldn’t believe how big the kids got.  I have to dig out the picture we took of them and post it here another time. It was just as hard to say goodbye to them after that day because we weren’t sure when we’d see them again.   But Mark is in town…

Family Pictures

Friends of mine set up a photo session for our family.  It was gifted to me in September but with Steve having surgery in October, we never got around to doing it.  Now that he’s in his last days, we knew we had to make it happen.  The photographer was kind enough to come to our house and work with us in taking some pictures. I dressed us all in blue for colon cancer.  And I love the results.  We will treasure these photos forever!

It feels so nice to be home with my family. Thank you Jodi for keeping everyone updated. You are such a great friend!!!!Allison and I came home on Saturday, we stayed one extra day and I’m glad we did. I’m nice and rested and feeling great. I enjoyed my time with her in the hospital, but it’s so good to be home with Holly and Steve now. My in laws left Sunday and we’ve spend the day together as a family and it’s been great. Allison is doing fantastic. She is such a good baby. She is eating a lot and sleeping a lot too. Our first night home went very well. She woke up every 2.5-3 hours to eat, but went right back to…

Cowgirl Boots are COOL when you are 7

  Cowgirl boots are cool when you are 7 and 37.  But this 7 year old recently discovered just how cool they are!  Holly received the above pink cowgirl boots a few years ago from a friend – they were a hand me down.  They didn’t fit her and pretty much were pushed to the back of her closet.  One weekend I cleaned our her closet and they resurfaced again and………… she hasn’t taken them off since. This picture was taking on her 7th birthday and the bus driver thought she got these boots for her birthday.  I explained that they were old and had been ‘rediscovered’ after some cleaning. Holly wanted to wear them to school but I said ‘No, your feet will hurt…

Halloween Bowling Party

I went for my bi-annual scrapbook weekend with Jodi today, even though Steve didn’t seem to pleased that I still went.  I just know that if I put it off any longer, it’ll never happen this fall and I really need the weekend away and with my bff Jodi.  He’ll be fine because my parents will be around to check on them and even cook dinner all weekend. The girls were invited to a bowling Halloween party so my mom took them.    I asked her to send me pictures because I felt bad I wouldn’t see them all dressed up.   Holly is wearing her Halloween costume for this year, but Allison is wearing something different, and I love what she has on!
