Mystic Aquarium
ByKarenThis weekend we visited Mystic Aquarium. We received free press passes, I just have to blog about our trip. Easy enough considering it saved us over $100!! Yup you read that right, had we paid for all four of us it would of cost us over $100. $28 per adult and $20 per child 3 and over so we would of had to pay for Allison too. Plus they charged $3.00 to go on the Voyage adventure (Holly and I went) and then $3.00 each for us to feed the birds (we got 3 sticks of food). Total = $111 for 3 hours. Steve would of never paid it, I said we would of because the girls enjoyed it, but I’m glad we didn’t! lol…

Back To School Time
ByKaren“It’s the most wonderful time of the Year!!” Oh wait, that’s the holidays not back to school. Bad Me. LOL Yesterday was the first day of School and at a new school too! They girls were very excited. Especially Allison because she entered Kindergarten. She’s finally in the same school as her sister. She feels awesome! Holly started 2nd grade and was a little nervous and cried for a little bit before she went inside but she’s in the same class as our neighbor so that really helped her. She got over it pretty quickly in the end. We took a few pictures at the house first… And a YIPPEE Picture as well – though I’m thinking mom was more “YIPPEE” than the girls were….

A Day In Allison’s Life – Zebra Outfit for the Day 2/15/13
ByKarenI let Allison dress herself. She wants to so I’d rather she become independent than always rely on me. That said, after Kindergarten we may have to work on her outfits more because some days the things she picks out wont fly in the upper grades. Here was today’s outfit… My favorite part is the blue Ariel socks with the black buckled shoes that have the worn out toes because she wears them every.single.day. And lets talk about the skirt – that is a Halloween dress up skirt but she likes to wear it as an everyday skirt. And the T-Shirt just cracks me up. Notice what it says on the shirt “I Like Being Me”. It’s PERFECT for her because she really is her…

Saying Good Night to Daddy….
ByKarenSince we became parents, Steve has always given the girls a good night hug in kiss once they were in bed. It’s just something he always made sure he did. It sounds trivial, but it was important to him to kiss them good night and remind them how much he loved them. HE LOVED THEM SO MUCH! Tonight the girls said good night to daddy for the last time at home. Tomorrow Steve will be transferred to a Hospice Home where he can be cared for by people who can make him more comfortable than we can here. Mark and I tried our best but we are at a point where we need to hand it over to someone else. They will be giving him…

Allison’s Trip to the Dentist
ByKarenWhen Holly was little(er) and I took her to the Dentist for the first time, she completly freaked out. She didn’t want to open her mouth because she was scared they were going to hurt her. We have one of the nicest dental hygenist and she has twins the same age as Holly so she knew exactly how to handle children. But it didn’t work, Holly wanted nothing to do with it. Fast forward 3 years and she still doesn’t like the Dentist and I make Steve take her because she tries to run out of the room. It’s rather amusing and stressful all at the same time. And then there is Allison…………. Allison has always been pretty easy going, not afraid of anything really….

Happy Birthday to Me!
ByKarenI turned 37 today. Yup 37! I feel like it was just yesterday that I was turning 30 and now it’s 7 years later. Time really flies, especially when you have kids. My mother had us over for dinner and cake this past weekend for my birthday. It was nice. The girls loved signing happy birthday to me. They are such good helpers. LOL Tonight Steve took us out to dinner, we went to the bar in Pawcatuck, we use to go to all the time before kids. I love their burgers so I was happy to go there. Plus the girls really like going there and sitting on the high stools. It was a nice birthday. I wasn’t looking forward to it but it…
