Friends of mine set up a photo session for our family. It was gifted to me in September but with Steve having surgery in October, we never got around to doing it. Now that he’s in his last days, we knew we had to make it happen. The photographer was kind enough to come to our house and work with us in taking some pictures. I dressed us all in blue for colon cancer. And I love the results. We will treasure these photos forever!
Allison has the first of many birthday celebrations today. Since it was school vacation this week, I figured it was the perfect time for her to have a party with some of her Kindergarten friends. Since I have a boot on my foot and getting around is a big hassle, I convinced here to have the party somewhere else so mommy didn’t have to do all the work. We agreed with AC Moore for an Arts & Crafts party as long as she could do something with Zebra Print. She was thrilled with the idea and couldn’t wait for the day to come. Today was day 4 of the girls Spring Break. It was so cold and windy today….. not crazy about this weather but it’s better than the rain we had yesterday! At least the sun was out today. Today was Allison’s 7th birthday and she woke up very excited about the day. But not just because it was her birthday but because we were going to Empire Beauty School for a day of Princess makeovers!!! Holly and Allison were 2 of 8 girls, I mean princesses, that were going to get their hair, makeup and nails done! It went very well…. Allison ready to go! Holly started with her nails…. It feels so nice to be home with my family. Thank you Jodi for keeping everyone updated. You are such a great friend!!!!Allison and I came home on Saturday, we stayed one extra day and I’m glad we did. I’m nice and rested and feeling great. I enjoyed my time with her in the hospital, but it’s so good to be home with Holly and Steve now. My in laws left Sunday and we’ve spend the day together as a family and it’s been great. My mother is a great cook. And I’m not just saying this because she reads my blog. She really is a great cook! The girls think so too though most times if you ask Allison who is the best cook she will say “Mommy!” and then “Nonnie!”. I know I’m not a better cook than my mother, but I’m happy to hear I’m Allison’s favorite cook! One thing she makes that is really yummy is her pizza! And she makes it every Friday. It’s funny because my aunt, her sister, used to make pizza all the time and it was awesome. My mother never made it but probably because her sister did. When my aunt died, I thought I’d never have her pizza again. But…
We are on school vacation this week and I promised the girls we’d do at least one fun thing a day but I do still have to work. They love going to the mall, well Holly does (Allison prefers to not walk around too much) and they had some Easter money burning a hole in their pockets so we had to go spend it!
