Day Four of Spring Break School Vacation {Beauty Makeovers, Softball and Birthday}
ByKarenToday was day 4 of the girls Spring Break. It was so cold and windy today….. not crazy about this weather but it’s better than the rain we had yesterday! At least the sun was out today. Today was Allison’s 7th birthday and she woke up very excited about the day. But not just because it was her birthday but because we were going to Empire Beauty School for a day of Princess makeovers!!! Holly and Allison were 2 of 8 girls, I mean princesses, that were going to get their hair, makeup and nails done! It went very well…. Allison ready to go! Holly started with her nails…. Allison got her hair curled…. Holly choose blue nail polish (of course, it’s her favorite color!)…
My Baby is 10 Today!
ByKarenHappy 10th Birthday to my baby girl Allison. I can’t believe she’s 10! I’m so proud of the person she has become. She’s a super smart, loving, empathetic, fun kid that loves gymnastics, makeup, music, MATH and ZEBRAs! I love her imagination and how much she wants to be just like me. The older she gets the more she looks like her daddy and while she’d rather look like me, I’m so glad to have a glimpse of him everyday. I love her to the moon and back and so did her daddy!!! There was nothing more that he wanted than to see her turn 10, 16, 18, 21 and so many more birthdays. But he’s with her every day, I just know it! Happy…
Lollipop Seeds
ByKarenHave you heard of Lollipop Seeds? I hadn’t until Friday. Allison had to go to the dentist and while there they told us about how the Easter Bunny sometimes brings Lollipop Seeds the day before Easter which you then spread on the ground and when the Easter Bunny comes, he spreads his magic on them and Lollipop’s grown. Doesn’t that sound cool? So the ladies at the office told my girls that they’d get in touch with the EB and ask him to bring us some Lollipop seeds. We were going to my inlaws for the weekend and we were really excited when we got there and realized he did indeed drop off some Lollipop seeds!!! I guess the dentist has a direct link to…
Essex Steam Train
ByKarenWe lived in southern RI/CT for about 12 years. We’ve been parents for about 8 years and we have driven by the Essex Steam train hundreds of times but we never took the girls on the train until this Spring. We knew we’d be moving further away and it would make it even more of a distance so we made sure we set aside some time while packing to take them. I’m glad we did – they loved it! It’s not the train to New York, which they really want to take with Mommy some day, but it was still a nice, fun train ride. It reminded me of when I was in 6th grade. Steve would have been 46 today
ByKarenI have amazing friends. I spent the day with some of them and we had a great time. We went to dinner and we celebrated Steve. We know he was there with us because a song he loved, that we were talking about earlier today, came on while at dinner. Then we saw a boat similar to the one his parents owned while he was growing up. We all agree that was him telling us he was there. Thank you for all the birthday wishes for him, all the texts and love you all sent us today. It really helps and I appreciate it so much!!!
Halloween Bowling Party
ByKarenI went for my bi-annual scrapbook weekend with Jodi today, even though Steve didn’t seem to pleased that I still went. I just know that if I put it off any longer, it’ll never happen this fall and I really need the weekend away and with my bff Jodi. He’ll be fine because my parents will be around to check on them and even cook dinner all weekend. The girls were invited to a bowling Halloween party so my mom took them. I asked her to send me pictures because I felt bad I wouldn’t see them all dressed up.
