Coffee with A Friend

I love coffee – most people that know me know I love coffee. Allison loves that I love coffee too. She relates the smell of coffee with me and it’s a comfort smell for her. It’s sort of cute! Bob and Melissa’s Visit Over Winter Break

Our friends Bob and Melissa have added to their family over the past year.  They welcomed a Foster Daughter into their home that happens to be the same age as Holly and Melissa delivered baby Lauren in June to make them a family of 4! Over the Christmas break they drove up from PA to visit for a few days with us.  This was the second time we met the girls and Holly and Allison were very excited to have Trinity over to play with their toys and have a sleep over. Allison’s Cursive Writing

Allison wants to learn everything Holly learns.  When Holly was learning to do math in Kindergarten, Allison learned to do math.  When Holly was learning to count by 5’s and 10’s.  Allison learned.  Allison then figured out how to count by 2’s just by the logic that it was every other number, no one taught her. Allison is smart, and hopefully will continue to enjoy learning new things as she gets older and won’t push school work aside for something else.  Holly is in 2nd grade now and she is learning to write cursive and is loving it.  Holly has very neat printing and her cursive is looking to be neat as well.  She’s still working on it. Hand Made Spaceship – Why Do I Buy Toys??

We got a new toilet this weekend and the girls got a new toy… all in one.  NO They aren’t playing in the toilet but they ARE playing in the box that the toilet came in. Seriously these kids have enough toys to label them spoiled but yet they play with things that aren’t toys.  But when they saw this big box, they knew it could be turned into something fun…………………. like a Spaceship! They got their markers out and began decorating and writing on their Spaceship and as you can see from the picture above it’s called “SPACESHIP STAR”.  That is Holly’s handwriting! Steve would have been 46 today

I have amazing friends. I spent the day with some of them and we had a great time. We went to dinner and we celebrated Steve. We know he was there with us because a song he loved, that we were talking about earlier today, came on while at dinner. Then we saw a boat similar to the one his parents owned while he was growing up. We all agree that was him telling us he was there. Thank you for all the birthday wishes for him, all the texts and love you all sent us today. It really helps and I appreciate it so much!!!

A Trip to the Disney Store at the Emerald Square Mall

While I was in California for the premiere of PLANES, I had a chance to visit the Disney store.  It was so beautiful and I love walking through that store.  We used to have one at the Warwick Mall but after the flood a few years ago, they never came back to the mall.  So the closest one is at the Emerald Square mall.  When I told Holly and Allison that I went to the Disney Store while in California, they asked if we could go to one someday before the summer was over.  Of course I said yes.
