Essex Steam Train

We lived in southern RI/CT for about 12 years.  We’ve been parents for about 8 years and we have driven by the Essex Steam train hundreds of times but we never took the girls on the train until this Spring.  We knew we’d be moving further away and it would make it even more of a distance so we made sure we set aside some time while packing to take them.   We are on school vacation this week and I promised the girls we’d do at least one fun thing a day but I do still have to work.  They love going to the mall, well Holly does (Allison prefers to not walk around too much) and they had some Easter money burning a hole in their pockets so we had to go spend it! Plus I needed to go to the Cox Cable store in the mall so it worked out well. It feels so nice to be home with my family. Thank you Jodi for keeping everyone updated. You are such a great friend!!!!Allison and I came home on Saturday, we stayed one extra day and I’m glad we did. I’m nice and rested and feeling great. I enjoyed my time with her in the hospital, but it’s so good to be home with Holly and Steve now. My in laws left Sunday and we’ve spend the day together as a family and it’s been great. Allison is doing fantastic. She is such a good baby. She is eating a lot and sleeping a lot too. Our first night home went very well. She woke up every 2.5-3 hours to eat, but went right back to…

A Day In Allison’s Life – Zebra Outfit for the Day 2/15/13

I let Allison dress herself.  She wants to so I’d rather she become independent than always rely on me.  That said, after Kindergarten we may have to work on her outfits more because some days the things she picks out wont fly in the upper grades. Here was today’s outfit… My favorite part is the blue Ariel socks with the black buckled shoes that have the worn out toes because she wears them every.single.day.  And lets talk about the skirt – that is a Halloween dress up skirt but she likes to wear it as an everyday skirt.  And the T-Shirt just cracks me up.  Notice what it says on the shirt “I Like Being Me”.  It’s PERFECT for her because she really is her…

Pretty Dresses from Italy

My mom went to Italy last month – alone!  I’m so proud of her.  She had a great time but was very homesick too, which  I figured she would be but I’m so glad she went because she has a lot of family there. She had fun shopping and bought the girls these really pretty dresses….. This picture was taken outside Allison’s school the day before her last day.  It was the best smile I was going to get!

Allison’s Kindergarten Birthday Party

Allison has the first of many birthday celebrations today.  Since it was school vacation this week, I figured it was the perfect time for her to have a party with some of her Kindergarten friends.  Since I have a boot on my foot and getting around is a big hassle, I convinced here to have the party somewhere else so mommy didn’t have to do all the work. We agreed with AC Moore for an Arts & Crafts party as long as she could do something with Zebra Print.  She was thrilled with the idea and couldn’t wait for the day to come.
