Steve would have been 46 today

I have amazing friends. I spent the day with some of them and we had a great time. We went to dinner and we celebrated Steve. We know he was there with us because a song he loved, that we were talking about earlier today, came on while at dinner. Then we saw a boat similar to the one his parents owned while he was growing up. We all agree that was him telling us he was there. Thank you for all the birthday wishes for him, all the texts and love you all sent us today. It really helps and I appreciate it so much!!!

A Day In Allison’s Life – Zebra Outfit for the Day 2/15/13

I let Allison dress herself. She wants to so I’d rather she become independent than always rely on me. That said, after Kindergarten we may have to work on her outfits more because some days the things she picks out wont fly in the upper grades. Here was today’s outfit… My favorite part is the blue Ariel socks with the black buckled shoes that have the worn out toes because she wears them every.single.day. And lets talk about the skirt – that is a Halloween dress up skirt but she likes to wear it as an everyday skirt. And the T-Shirt just cracks me up. And Baby makes FOUR!!!!!

We will be a complete family of FOUR in April!!! The newest edition to the Wilmes Family will arrive the end of April and we couldn’t be happier. Today was our first doctor’s appointment and we had an ultrasound and was able to see little Baby W for the first time. It’s little arms and legs were moving around like crazy. A very active baby, guess this one will be just like Holly!! It was so great to see the baby and now it feels so much more real, even though my belly has already begun to grow, this just reassures me that everything is going well.

Allison’s Cursive Writing

Allison wants to learn everything Holly learns. When Holly was learning to do math in Kindergarten, Allison learned to do math. When Holly was learning to count by 5’s and 10’s. Allison learned. Allison then figured out how to count by 2’s just by the logic that it was every other number, no one taught her. Allison is smart, and hopefully will continue to enjoy learning new things as she gets older and won’t push school work aside for something else. Holly is in 2nd grade now and she is learning to write cursive and is loving it. Holly has very neat printing and her cursive is looking to be neat as well. She’s still working on it. Essex Steam Train

We lived in southern RI/CT for about 12 years. We’ve been parents for about 8 years and we have driven by the Essex Steam train hundreds of times but we never took the girls on the train until this Spring. We knew we’d be moving further away and it would make it even more of a distance so we made sure we set aside some time while packing to take them. I’m glad we did – they loved it! It’s not the train to New York, which they really want to take with Mommy some day, but it was still a nice, fun train ride. It reminded me of when I was in 6th grade. Day Two of Spring Break School Vacation {Daddy’s Birthday}

It’s Day two of the girl’s Spring Break and today we celebrated my husband’s birthday. We usually go out for dinner to celebrate a birthday but we couldn’t tonight because Holly had softball practice and Allison had soccer practice so since the girls are home today, we decided to take Daddy to lunch for his birthday. He chose Gregg’s and no one minded. They have a special on Tuesday that when you order from the regular menu you get a drink and a desert for an extra $3.50. That’s a great deal since the drinks alone are $2.50 and the desserts are $6. So we took two slices of cake home to celebrate daddy’s birthday after practice.
