Happy Birthday to Me!
ByKarenI turned 37 today. Yup 37! I feel like it was just yesterday that I was turning 30 and now it’s 7 years later. Time really flies, especially when you have kids. My mother had us over for dinner and cake this past weekend for my birthday. It was nice. The girls loved signing happy birthday to me. They are such good helpers. LOL Tonight Steve took us out to dinner, we went to the bar in Pawcatuck, we use to go to all the time before kids. I love their burgers so I was happy to go there. Plus the girls really like going there and sitting on the high stools. It was a nice birthday. I wasn’t looking forward to it but it…

Coffee with A Friend
ByKarenI love coffee – most people that know me know I love coffee. Allison loves that I love coffee too. She relates the smell of coffee with me and it’s a comfort smell for her. It’s sort of cute! Recently I was drinking a cup of coffee and had a little left and it got cold so I didn’t want anymore. I asked Allison if she could put my cup on the counter for me. She asked if she could smell it first, something she loves doing almost every time I make a cup of coffee. I told her sure, just to be careful. She came back a few moments later and was giggling. She told me that she was smelling my coffee and tipped…

Big Summer Adventure – Getting Their Ears Pierced
ByKarenHolly has been hesitant for a while about getting her ears pierced. But when she noticed her friend Katie had her ears pierced and had mickey mouse earrings, she decided she definitely wanted her’s done. We had to wait until the summertime because her dance recital was at the end of the school year and she can’t wear earrings during the recital. She was OK with this because that gave her time to digest the fact that she was going to do it. I am traveling for a bit this summer so in between my trips, Steve thought it would be a good idea to take Holly to have her ears pierced because she had mentioned a few times she really was ready to do…

Making Pizza With Nonnie
ByKarenMy mother is a great cook. And I’m not just saying this because she reads my blog. She really is a great cook! The girls think so too though most times if you ask Allison who is the best cook she will say “Mommy!” and then “Nonnie!”. I know I’m not a better cook than my mother, but I’m happy to hear I’m Allison’s favorite cook! One thing she makes that is really yummy is her pizza! And she makes it every Friday. It’s funny because my aunt, her sister, used to make pizza all the time and it was awesome. My mother never made it but probably because her sister did. When my aunt died, I thought I’d never have her pizza again. But…

Day Two of Spring Break School Vacation {Daddy’s Birthday}
ByKarenIt’s Day two of the girl’s Spring Break and today we celebrated my husband’s birthday. We usually go out for dinner to celebrate a birthday but we couldn’t tonight because Holly had softball practice and Allison had soccer practice so since the girls are home today, we decided to take Daddy to lunch for his birthday. He chose Gregg’s and no one minded. They have a special on Tuesday that when you order from the regular menu you get a drink and a desert for an extra $3.50. That’s a great deal since the drinks alone are $2.50 and the desserts are $6. So we took two slices of cake home to celebrate daddy’s birthday after practice. Happy 43rd Birthday Steve! xoxo Holly has…

Day Five of Spring Break School Vacation {Birthday Party}
ByKarenToday was day 5 of the girl’s spring break and the last day (not counting the weekend). To end the week we had a birthday party for Allison at AC Moore. She had her party there last year and loved it so much she asked to go there again. I don’t mind because not only is it affordable, but the staff is great and she can pick her own craft. Before we began, she had them write their name on the table (which was covered with kraft paper) and also to draw a picture. A lot of her friends drew pictures of zebras which I thought was adorable! Finally it was time to start the craft. She choose to make a parachord bracelet but I…
