Snow Day!!!

“ok mom”“here it is, mom”“i love you, mom”“can I have a snack, mom?”“thank you, mom” That’s what I’ve been hearing from Holly for about a week now, “mom”. I still get the occasional “mommy” but most of the day, I am just “mom”. This seems a little to early to make the shift from “mommy” to “mom”. I mean, she’s only been 3 for 2 months. I don’t think I’m ready to be “mom”……I am still “mommy”. I need to slow down time, my Holly is growing up way too fast.

I look at this face and my heart just melts. I love my daughter so much, I would do anything to make sure nothing ever happened to her…always. I’m sure as she grows there will be times when we won’t agree, or we won’t “like” each other but no matter what I will always see this little face and just fall to pieces over her. I watch her as she’s doing things and I wonder what goes through her mind and I can’t wait until she can tell me. She’s started talking and that little voice is the absolute sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. She tries so hard sometimes to tell me what she’s thinking, but we just aren’t quite there yet. I finally had the chance to take Allison for her 6 month pictures yesterday, even though she will be 7 months next week! She did a great job, after I change her diaper. She wasn’t too happy taking pictures in a dirty diaper, can’t say I blame her. Here is our little superstar…. Tomorrow I will post our bigger superstar’s pictures since it’s her 3rd Birthday!

Now that Holly is talking so much, every now and then, she says something and we just have to laugh, it’s so cute. This weekend on Saturday her Nana and Papa (Steve’s parents) came to visit. Then on Sunday I told her that Nonnie and Papa (my parents) were coming to visit her. She said to me“more Nana’s and papa’s today”It was so cute! She absolutely loves all 4 of her grandparents and she had so much fun playing with them all this weekend. Today (Monday) we went to Target. When we got to the register, the cashier said Hi to us, pretty normal. Sometimes Holly will say Hi back, other times she gets shy and won’t even look at the cashier. Well today was…

That’s what you could call our house last week. We were all sick. Holly started it all with a cold/cough/slight fever. The Allison started coughing and had a runny nose. Then Steve started with a sore throat, stuffy nose and cough, then Allison got worse and started with a fever that would NOT go away. That’s when I called the doctor and asked to bring her in. I was thinking maybe she had an ear infection but I also wanted to make sure her lungs were clear. I was wrong about both. Instead the poor little thing has the Flu and RSV! And of course both of them are virus’s so nothing can really help but rest/fluids and lots of cleaning of the nose (she…

I haven’t taken the time to blog the last few days but got lots to say (when don’t I?!!). Most importantly, my nephew Jonathan, who is 8 years old, had emergency surgery on Wednesday to have his appendix removed. Poor little dude was so sick Tuesday night and then by Wednesday morning his side was hurting so much he could not even walk. His parents acted fast because they suspected it was his appendix and sure enough it was. As they took it out, it burst so now he’s going to be in the hospital until Wednesday receiving an antibiotic. Poor little guy, he is being so brave and doing well.
