Goofy Kids and A Trip to New Hampshire
The girls and I took a trip up to New Hampshire for the day on Presidents day since there was no school. It happened to be Winter Vacation for us, but not for little David. But since it was a holiday, he had no school on Monday. The girls were very excited to see David and Joey as I was excited to see my best friend Jodi. The ride went well, we had no traffic and the girls enjoyed it too, which is always a plus. However after driving for 2+ hours, we were all happy to arrive. We had lunch and then the kids played while the moms chit chatted. They all get along so great. When we are all together I sit and…
Back To School Time
“It’s the most wonderful time of the Year!!” Oh wait, that’s the holidays not back to school. Bad Me. LOL Yesterday was the first day of School and at a new school too! They girls were very excited. Especially Allison because she entered Kindergarten. She’s finally in the same school as her sister. She feels awesome! Holly started 2nd grade and was a little nervous and cried for a little bit before she went inside but she’s in the same class as our neighbor so that really helped her. She got over it pretty quickly in the end. We took a few pictures at the house first… And a YIPPEE Picture as well – though I’m thinking mom was more “YIPPEE” than the girls were….
Family Pictures
Friends of mine set up a photo session for our family. It was gifted to me in September but with Steve having surgery in October, we never got around to doing it. Now that he’s in his last days, we knew we had to make it happen. The photographer was kind enough to come to our house and work with us in taking some pictures. I dressed us all in blue for colon cancer. And I love the results. We will treasure these photos forever!
Saying Good Night to Daddy….
Since we became parents, Steve has always given the girls a good night hug in kiss once they were in bed. It’s just something he always made sure he did. It sounds trivial, but it was important to him to kiss them good night and remind them how much he loved them. HE LOVED THEM SO MUCH! Tonight the girls said good night to daddy for the last time at home. Tomorrow Steve will be transferred to a Hospice Home where he can be cared for by people who can make him more comfortable than we can here. Mark and I tried our best but we are at a point where we need to hand it over to someone else. They will be giving him…
Coffee with A Friend
I love coffee – most people that know me know I love coffee. Allison loves that I love coffee too. She relates the smell of coffee with me and it’s a comfort smell for her. It’s sort of cute! Recently I was drinking a cup of coffee and had a little left and it got cold so I didn’t want anymore. I asked Allison if she could put my cup on the counter for me. She asked if she could smell it first, something she loves doing almost every time I make a cup of coffee. I told her sure, just to be careful. She came back a few moments later and was giggling. She told me that she was smelling my coffee and tipped…
Essex Steam Train
We lived in southern RI/CT for about 12 years. We’ve been parents for about 8 years and we have driven by the Essex Steam train hundreds of times but we never took the girls on the train until this Spring. We knew we’d be moving further away and it would make it even more of a distance so we made sure we set aside some time while packing to take them. I’m glad we did – they loved it! It’s not the train to New York, which they really want to take with Mommy some day, but it was still a nice, fun train ride. It reminded me of when I was in 6th grade. Our end of the year treat was a ride on…

This is the new family. Holly is taking a break from climbing up and down mommy’s hospital bed. The little cap that Allison is wearing has been worn by all 4 of my grandchildren. Jonathan 8 1/2, Kristopher 5, Holly 2 1/2 and Allison at 2 days old. We will now put it to rest until they all have children of their own. My precious FOUR. A very grateful grandmother!
Oh Ang that is so nice about the little cap. That is what I thought but I wasn’t sure. What a nice family picture of Steve, Karen, Holly & Allison. And the picture of Holly laying on the floor is priceless! Congratulations AGain!
