Making Pizza With Nonnie

My mother is a great cook.  And I’m not just saying this because she reads my blog.  She really is a great cook!  The girls think so too though most times if you ask Allison who is the best cook she will say “Mommy!” and then “Nonnie!”.   I know I’m not a better cook than my mother, but I’m happy to hear I’m Allison’s favorite cook! Essex Steam Train

We lived in southern RI/CT for about 12 years.  We’ve been parents for about 8 years and we have driven by the Essex Steam train hundreds of times but we never took the girls on the train until this Spring.  We knew we’d be moving further away and it would make it even more of a distance so we made sure we set aside some time while packing to take them. Uncle Mark’s Visit

We were so sad when our friends Mark & Sue moved to Florida almost 4 years ago.  But we knew that was where they wanted to be and this time they weren’t coming back.  It was sad to say good bye to them, but we had too. Last October we were able to spend the day with them at The Magic Kingdom during our trip to Florda.  We had a great time and we couldn’t believe how big the kids got.  I have to dig out the picture we took of them and post it here another time. Me & My Silly Girls

We spent the weekend at my parents while Steve was traveling and before we left I wanted to leave some cute pictures of the girls on my mother’s camera. They were so silly. The camera settings were off at first so some of them are blurry but they were too cute to not post. Allison was being silly closing her eyes. Holly thinks she’s a model, always striking a pose. Allison isn’t quite sure what to do. She figured it out. lol

Allison The Snow Princess

Allison still loves Dora.  She doesn’t watch the show too much, but she loves Dora’s books.  She has a pile of them sitting in her bed that she reads to Eeka at night.  She knows most of the stories herself now after hearing them so much.  I love listening to her ‘read’ the stories because she is right on with so many of the details. Today we were in Job Lot and we went by the kids book aisle.  I noticed some Dora books and went through them all to see what she had and didn’t have.  We ended up getting 6 more but they were only $1.00 each so why not! Big Summer Adventure – Getting Their Ears Pierced

Holly has been hesitant for a while about getting her ears pierced.  But when she noticed her friend Katie had her ears pierced and had mickey mouse earrings, she decided she definitely wanted her’s done.  We had to wait until the summertime because her dance recital was at the end of the school year and she can’t wear earrings during the recital.  She was OK with this because that gave her time to digest the fact that she was going to do it. I am traveling for a bit this summer so in between my trips, Steve thought it would be a good idea to take Holly to have her ears pierced because she had mentioned a few times she really was ready to do…

  1. This is the new family. Holly is taking a break from climbing up and down mommy’s hospital bed. The little cap that Allison is wearing has been worn by all 4 of my grandchildren. Jonathan 8 1/2, Kristopher 5, Holly 2 1/2 and Allison at 2 days old. We will now put it to rest until they all have children of their own. My precious FOUR. A very grateful grandmother!

  2. Oh Ang that is so nice about the little cap. That is what I thought but I wasn’t sure. What a nice family picture of Steve, Karen, Holly & Allison. And the picture of Holly laying on the floor is priceless! Congratulations AGain!
