Great Day Today……Yesterday Not So Great!
Holly and Daddy walking to the beach…….
She went for the sand immediately!
You can barely see her eyes because her hat was falling down!

Well we’ve realized that we should start trying to Potty Train Holly. Not exactly sure how to go about it but the first step was to open the box with the Potty that’s been sitting in my dining room for 2 months now. So last night I did exactly that, put it together and put it next to the toilet in the bathroom. When it was time for Holly’s bath I said to her… “Do you want to sit on the potty and do pee pee’s?” She got all excited sat down smiled for the camera and then got up. Then she went back, sat down, smiled for the camera again and then got up. We did this about 5 times without any pee pee’s….
Well at least in our house and in Holly’s wardrobe. Most of her pants are too long for her so until i find more that fit her, we will be wearing a LOT of skirts with tights. I got these tights at The Children’s Place — love that store!!!. When I got her dressed I asked her if she wanted to wear her new shoes with the flowers on them and believe it or not, she ACTUALLY let me put them on her. For those of you that know, Holly usually gives me a hard time putting new shoes on her but this time she didn’t. Such a BIG GIRL!! So here she is in her first fall outfit and I couldn’t resist putting on…
Here we are back at Monday morning. I used to HATE Mondays but now I like them. It’s a fresh start to a new week. I get the house back in order from the weekend and Holly and I plan our week. It helps that I don’t have to jump out of bed, get dressed and head out the door. That’s probably why I don’t Hate Monday’s anymore. But we had a nice weekend. My inlaws came and stayed the weekend (Hi Marge!!) and Holly loved it! Then we had a nice dinner at my parents house (Hi Mom!!) for Palm Sunday. My mother is a GREAT cook. Not that I didn’t know that until yesterday but I was reminded again. Of course she made…
These girls are getting so big, so fast…………it’s amazing! Allison likes to carry a ‘bunch’ of things at a time by tucking them under her chin. It’s really cute when she does this. One day I let her play with the tub of wipes so I could finish up some things around the house (of course I have plenty of wipes to spare). Once they were all pulled out of the tub, she then carried them from room to room, and of course tucked them under her chin. I was able to catch a couple of pictures of her…. We decided to keep Holly home from school the month of August and we’ve also decided to send her to a different school in September. Her…
Today was moving day, for Holly at least. We finally finished painting her new room and it’s all ready for her. We began by moving her crib into the room this morning, boy was that fun. We were really hoping not to have to take the entire crib apart but we had to unassemble quite a bit of it to get it through the doors. Live and Learn. We’ve decided to move her with the crib first and then when she is nice and settled in there, we’ll get her a bed. Then we had to break for haircuts. Steve and Holly both needed haircuts so we went to see Betsy today. This was the first time we were attempted to have someone cut Holly’s…
Last week, the girls and I, along with Danielle met Jodi and David to go strawberry picking. It was pretty overcast and we knew it was going to rain but we did our best to get the picking done before the rain came, and we did, just in the nick of time! The kids LOVED it. Holly doesn’t like to eat strawberries but she loved picking them. While we walked to the field, Holly and David held hands, it was so cute. I’m not sure if someday they will love us for these pictures, or hate us, but they are just so cute together! Now onto the strawberry picking. The biggest strawberries were already gone, but we sure did get some yummy, sweet and juicy…

Not fun about the water. My heart goes out to you guys. We know first hand the damage water can do to a basement. It is so much work controlling it.
GREAT pictures at the beach! I love them all. Lil D said “Holly Cute”! and he said “Baby Too”. Guess he wants to go to the beach too and the of course the playground.
Glad you had such a nice day after the bad day yesterday. Hard to believe looking at the pictures of blue skies and kids without coats (in the background) that yesterday was so miserable. Today was the calm after the storm so they say.
Oh Second comment – Girl You need to scrapbook those pictures!!!!
Karen those are great beach pictures!! The one of you and Steve is a fantastic self portrait…hope we’ll be seeing that in a LO soon!
Good luck with the water issue!!
