Happy Birthday Steve

Yesterday was Steve’s birthday. We had our parents over for pizza and cake. Nothing exciting, just something to celebrate the day. My brother and Sister in law couldn’t make it but the boys came with my parents. We had a nice time. Holly got all excited when we started singing Happy Birthday. She just loves that song. It’s funny because most kids her age don’t it when you shut off the lights, light some candles and sing. Not my daughter, she absolutely LOVES it. Here are some pictures fo the singing event…. Today Holly’s big girl bed was delivered and she was so excited. We’ve been talking about the big girl bed for a couple of weeks now and she really seemed to ‘get it’. We even told her that baby sister was going to use her crib and she’s been OK with that too. This morning, I moved some of her toys out to make room for the bed and put her crib to the side of the room. When daddy got home, the three of us (Holly always helps) took her crib apart and moved it into the nursery. After the bed arrived today she went running in there and tried to get on it, but it took her a few tries to figure out…

We’ve all been sick. First Allison, then Mommy, then Holly and finally Steve. The wonderful stomach and intestinal bug……… fun fun fun. We have been just lying around the house for a few days. I felt really bad for the girls, they were not themselves, but they were still cute. Steve took some pictures of the girls sharing the couch. Holly smiled, but Allison just couldn’t. Holly felt better cuddling with Penquin……….Of course Allison had June with her to help her nap…..

We are all here and well, just not much to say. Steve told me I really needed to update the blog and when I told him I didn’t really have much to say or any pictures to share, he told me that I was wrong. I should be talking about how Allison is trying to crawl. So here is my post just for Steve (love you honey!) Allison is crawling, not perfectly yet, but she’s doing REALLY well. She still mostly does the ‘army crawl’ but every now and then she gets up on all fours and moves a few steps. It’s cute! And we are excited that she’s doing so well but I’m also sad that my baby is getting big WAY TO FAST!…

While Jodi was visiting, she did the girls hair… they look like Princess Lea in Star Wars (is that how to spell her name?)  Jodi loves doing the girls hair because she has two boys.  After she did their hair she wanted to take a picture of them but the girls were having one of their moments.  They didn’t want to be next to each other or to even touch each other. So Jodi said to them “Make believe you like each other for a minute”.  And this is the result of that….. Holly the little actress went along with it and ‘made believe’ she was going to put her arm around her sister.  Allison pretty much stood there because she was told too trying…

Our family received some good news yesterday. Some of you who know my cousin Mia (46) had open heart surgery in June and has been paralyzed ever since from the waist down. Last week she was able to wiggle two toes on each foot and after a few days she was wiggling all the toes on one foot. She went to Boston yesterday for an evaluation and they said that since she is able to do that, then it means that she WILL walk again someday!!! That was the best news ever. We had an idea that would be the case but they confirmed it. She needs to just be patient and keep up with physical therapy and just give it some time. They said…
