The things she says………
“more Nana’s and papa’s today”
It was so cute! She absolutely loves all 4 of her grandparents and she had so much fun playing with them all this weekend.
Today (Monday) we went to Target. When we got to the register, the cashier said Hi to us, pretty normal. Sometimes Holly will say Hi back, other times she gets shy and won’t even look at the cashier. Well today was something completely different. She looked at the cashier and said to her
“I’m Holly, this is mommy and that (pointing to my belly) is baby sister. She’s in mommy’s belly.”
I couldn’t believe what she just said! First of all, she never tells anyone her name when asked, NEVER. Second of all, to introduce all 3 of us (we always include baby sister when talking to her now and it’s catching on) was just AMAZING.
Last week, Steve and I switched cars to have some work done on one of them. We do this occasionally, nothing new to Holly. Well, she wasn’t too happy at first when she saw that her and I were taking daddy’s car. She wanted to know where Holly’s car was. I told her daddy had it for a few days and we would be using his car. Well that night when daddy came home, she went up to him and said
“Daddy, thank you for bringing home Holly’s car”
He just stood there shaking his head laughing at her, she’s so amazing. Needless to say, when we went out to the car today and she say “Holly’s car” she was very happy!
And one more……
By Sunday night, she was exhausted. Between playing with both sets of grandparents this weekend, running around at the beach and getting up early (it happens a lot on weekends now) she was just beat by about 7pm. My parents were still here and they told her they were going to be leaving soon and she said to them
“Nana Papa go home in Papa’s car, Holly go night night in crib”
She was pretty much telling them, yes leave because I need to go to bed. It was really funny because she never “offers” to go to bed, but she was so tired, there was nothing more she wanted to do at that point.
Thanks for letting me share.
Karen, I can’t wait to see Holly (and of course you) again. It is amazing how well she can express herself. What a cute little voice too! Her “wheels” are always turning and It is great that she can say what she is thinking.
I love what she told the lady at Target. That was a good laugh.
Wow – it is so amazing how we have watched her grow up through your scrapbooking and blog. She sure is a cutie!
Erica
What a total cutie. It’s amazing what kids say & think. Cami always refers to my car as “Cami’s car” too. Love it!
I can’t wait till my lil ones start talking in toddler sentences too, what a joy!
How cute. Thanks for sharing your stories Karen. I got a good smile today 🙂
