Water Fun!

My mother has been spending a lot of time over here lately and she’s been such a great help. Her and Holly have been having fun too. She’s trying really hard to get Holly to accept a barrett in her hair. She’s not having much luck but she did managed to get her to keep one in for a while. Maybe if we keep trying, she’ll eventually just accept them. She looks so cute!!! We are trying once again to get her to go on the potty. She loves to sit there but nothing comes out. I think once she goes the first time, she’ll be so happy and proud that she will want to go again. I’m trying and we are now using M&M;’s…

“ok mom”“here it is, mom”“i love you, mom”“can I have a snack, mom?”“thank you, mom” That’s what I’ve been hearing from Holly for about a week now, “mom”. I still get the occasional “mommy” but most of the day, I am just “mom”. This seems a little to early to make the shift from “mommy” to “mom”. I mean, she’s only been 3 for 2 months. I don’t think I’m ready to be “mom”……I am still “mommy”. I need to slow down time, my Holly is growing up way too fast.

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you all had a great Christmas. We had a wonderful day and it was so much fun with Holly and Allison this year. Holly was every excited about Santa and this was really the first year with so much excitement. It reminded me of when I was a little girl and I’d get so excited too. I’m amazed she fell asleep so easily too. When she got up this morning she was in complete awe that Santa actually came and knocked down hers and Allison’s stockings, but he filled them up so that was OK. (Once they were full, they couldn’t say on the holders but she didn’t get that part, she thought he knocked them down, how cute). The…

Holly looks forward everyday for her daddy to come home from work. She’s usually waiting by the door to see his car pull up and then she gets all excited. They have their play time after dinner and boy do they play. I think sometimes Holly thinks she’s a boy and likes to rough house. It’s really cute watching them play. Holly has learned to use daddy as a human slide….it’s the funniest thing and they both enjoy it. I don’t hear daddy complaining. Allison is a full fledged walker now and even tries to run at times. She no longer crawls! She started walking a bit right after her 1st Birthday and each week it got more and more and for about 10 days now it’s been a full time thing for her. We love to watch her walk, she waddles a bit still but is very steady. Her run is a really fast walking and it’s amazing she doesn’t fall over. Here is a video I took of her tonight walking back and forth down the hall to her room. I guess she was ‘dancing’ to the music and kept coming back to turn it on. She’s so cute. Sorry it’s been over a week since I posted but I just haven’t had a thing to say. I know that seems strange for me but really it’s the truth!! Holly is doing great, saying more and more every single day. It’s so great to be able to communicate with her but there are still times when we don’t know what she’s saying. One thing she continues to say to us is “merry christmas”. I think it’s so cute when she says it. She obviously has no idea what it means, but she’s only 2 and that’s what makes it cute.
