Today’s Update

Jodi here… I spoke with Karen this morning and everyone is doing well. I read to her all the well wishes that everyone posted to her. Thank You!

Karen is blissfully enjoying Allison and on her road to recovery. Allison is sleeping and eating just great (burping and pooing too which is exiciting news when you have a new baby!) Holly I am sure is loving all the playtime with her Daddy and Grandparents and Steve is holding down the fort. Holly is understanding that mommy is staying at the doctors and she goes home with Daddy. She understands too that Baby Sister will be coming home to their house. I am sure she will be a great big sister!

When I first saw the picture of Allison I couldn’t help think “does she look like Holly when Holly was born?” Isn’t it funny that we do that when a baby is born? We want to know who they resemble. So I had to dig thru my stored photos from almost 2 1/2 years ago. I found Holly’s newborn picture. And no, they don’t look too much alike right now. It will be interesting to see as Allison grows if they will look alike. Here is the comparison photo. Holly is the top picture.

Making Pizza With Nonnie

My mother is a great cook.  And I’m not just saying this because she reads my blog.  She really is a great cook!  The girls think so too though most times if you ask Allison who is the best cook she will say “Mommy!” and then “Nonnie!”.   I know I’m not a better cook than my mother, but I’m happy to hear I’m Allison’s favorite cook! Mystic 2 Years Later & A promise for more!

It’s been two years since I’ve updated this blog. My other blog KouponKaren.com took off like crazy so this sort of got pushed to the back burner AND Facebook is so much easier to update with pictures of the kids and what we’ve been up too. But I have all this stuff here, just sitting in space, of them when they were babies so I will be updating this from time to time. We went to Mystic this weekend for a birthday party that Holly was invited to. We decided to make a day of it and bring Allison along as well and spend time with her while Holly was at her party. Bob and Melissa’s Visit Over Winter Break

Our friends Bob and Melissa have added to their family over the past year.  They welcomed a Foster Daughter into their home that happens to be the same age as Holly and Melissa delivered baby Lauren in June to make them a family of 4! Over the Christmas break they drove up from PA to visit for a few days with us.  This was the second time we met the girls and Holly and Allison were very excited to have Trinity over to play with their toys and have a sleep over. The girls got along great and became fast friends. It snowed while they were visiting so the kids had fun playing in the snow together too.  It was a short but nice visit…

Lollipop Seeds

Have you heard of Lollipop Seeds?  I hadn’t until Friday.  Allison had to go to the dentist and while there they told us about how the Easter Bunny sometimes brings Lollipop Seeds the day before Easter which you then spread on the ground and when the Easter Bunny comes, he spreads his magic on them and Lollipop’s grown. Doesn’t that sound cool? So the ladies at the office told my girls that they’d get in touch with the EB and ask him to bring us some Lollipop seeds.  We were going to my inlaws for the weekend and we were really excited when we got there and realized he did indeed drop off some Lollipop seeds!!!  I guess the dentist has a direct link to…

Under the Weather

Allison was feeling under the weather and had a slight fever.  We felt so bad for her.  She didn’t want to go to bed so instead I put her in front of the TV with Eeka and her blanket and told her to relax.  I knew she’d fall asleep – and she did.  She looked so cute sleeping I had to take a picture of her.  I don’t know how she could lay in this position for so long but she did……… guess when you’re small it’s easier. I’m happy to report her fever only lasted a day and then she was fine.

  2. No, they really don’t look alike! Of course, we can’t see Allison’s hair in that pic. They are both truly beautiful!
