Father / Daughter Dance Picture
ByKarenPhoto credit Rebecka Richards I love this picture. Holly absolutely loves her dad, which is probably because she is JUST LIKE HIM. Seriously, they are like two peas in a pod. I’m not sure two people could be more a like. I think you get the picture. So when I look at this picture, I don’t just see a little girl who is happy to be with her dad. I see a little girl who is looking at her dad with so much love and admiration — I know when she looks at him, her hearts melts. And his does too. Whenever Steve travels, Holly cries when she has to say goodbye to him. And she really misses him the entire time he’s gone. Allison…
Day One of Spring Break School Vacation {Shopping}
ByKarenWe are on school vacation this week and I promised the girls we’d do at least one fun thing a day but I do still have to work. They love going to the mall, well Holly does (Allison prefers to not walk around too much) and they had some Easter money burning a hole in their pockets so we had to go spend it! Plus I needed to go to the Cox Cable store in the mall so it worked out well. But first we had lunch with my dear friend Luann and her daughter who happened to be in the area today. I was so happy she called me because she hasn’t seen the girls in a long time because we usually get…
Balloon Head
ByKarenWhile visiting with Jodi a few weeks ago, the kids started blowing up balloons. The most exciting part for me was Jodi showed me how to tie a balloon – I never knew how to do it but now I do! They had a lot of fun with the balloons and as you can see from the picture, Holly figured out how to make the balloons stick to her head and now she is known as “Balloon Head”. She’s cute no matter what!
Uncle Mark’s Visit
ByKarenWe were so sad when our friends Mark & Sue moved to Florida almost 4 years ago. But we knew that was where they wanted to be and this time they weren’t coming back. It was sad to say good bye to them, but we had too. Last October we were able to spend the day with them at The Magic Kingdom during our trip to Florda. We had a great time and we couldn’t believe how big the kids got. I have to dig out the picture we took of them and post it here another time. It was just as hard to say goodbye to them after that day because we weren’t sure when we’d see them again. But Mark is in town…
School is Out and the Pool is Open
ByKarenSchool is out and this is what we did the first day of school vacation. My girls are like fish and they love being in the pool and oddly enough I’m enjoying it this summer too. Not sure why. Perhaps it’s because we have neighbors that enjoy swimming with us as well? It’s always fun with friends. Or maybe it’s just because I’ve slowed down so I can enjoy myself more? I don’t really know but I have a feeling by the time summer is over we are all going to be completely water-logged from all the swimming. But see the happy look on her face? That’s what I enjoy the most. She’s swimming up a storm and just enjoying herself. This is what parenting…
Day Four of Spring Break School Vacation {Beauty Makeovers, Softball and Birthday}
ByKarenToday was day 4 of the girls Spring Break. It was so cold and windy today….. not crazy about this weather but it’s better than the rain we had yesterday! At least the sun was out today. Today was Allison’s 7th birthday and she woke up very excited about the day. But not just because it was her birthday but because we were going to Empire Beauty School for a day of Princess makeovers!!! Holly and Allison were 2 of 8 girls, I mean princesses, that were going to get their hair, makeup and nails done! It went very well…. Allison ready to go! Holly started with her nails…. Allison got her hair curled…. Holly choose blue nail polish (of course, it’s her favorite color!)…
