Holly’s New Coat
Holly has gone through a few coats this winter. The one she had from last year that fortunately still fit her, was taken from Gymnastics (I’m sure by accident) and never returned. Then I bought her a nice one at JCPenny which she didn’t like but she had to wear anyways. And then she got a new one for her birthday that she liked better. In the end she didn’t like either one of them and conveniently broke the zipper on one of them. LOL I think these kids sometimes are smarter than me. Fortunately, I had just received an email about reviewing a Rothschild Coat. so I was happy to not have to buy her another coat. The only thing was I didn’t get…
Allison’s Cursive Writing
Allison wants to learn everything Holly learns. When Holly was learning to do math in Kindergarten, Allison learned to do math. When Holly was learning to count by 5’s and 10’s. Allison learned. Allison then figured out how to count by 2’s just by the logic that it was every other number, no one taught her. Allison is smart, and hopefully will continue to enjoy learning new things as she gets older and won’t push school work aside for something else. Holly is in 2nd grade now and she is learning to write cursive and is loving it. Holly has very neat printing and her cursive is looking to be neat as well. She’s still working on it. Allison, of course, wants to learn cursive…
Big Summer Adventure – Getting Their Ears Pierced
Holly has been hesitant for a while about getting her ears pierced. But when she noticed her friend Katie had her ears pierced and had mickey mouse earrings, she decided she definitely wanted her’s done. We had to wait until the summertime because her dance recital was at the end of the school year and she can’t wear earrings during the recital. She was OK with this because that gave her time to digest the fact that she was going to do it. I am traveling for a bit this summer so in between my trips, Steve thought it would be a good idea to take Holly to have her ears pierced because she had mentioned a few times she really was ready to do…
There is a Leprechaun in Our House
We aren’t Irish and don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day but somehow this Leprechaun still managed to sneak into our house and hang himself up on the wall….. Just another one of Allison’s FUN Kindergarten Art’s & Crafts projects. I think she did a pretty good job!
Allison The Snow Princess
Allison still loves Dora. She doesn’t watch the show too much, but she loves Dora’s books. She has a pile of them sitting in her bed that she reads to Eeka at night. She knows most of the stories herself now after hearing them so much. I love listening to her ‘read’ the stories because she is right on with so many of the details. Today we were in Job Lot and we went by the kids book aisle. I noticed some Dora books and went through them all to see what she had and didn’t have. We ended up getting 6 more but they were only $1.00 each so why not! Needless to say, she’s excited to read to Eeka tonight. So what does…
Father / Daughter Dance Picture
Photo credit Rebecka Richards I love this picture. Holly absolutely loves her dad, which is probably because she is JUST LIKE HIM. Seriously, they are like two peas in a pod. I’m not sure two people could be more a like. I think you get the picture. So when I look at this picture, I don’t just see a little girl who is happy to be with her dad. I see a little girl who is looking at her dad with so much love and admiration — I know when she looks at him, her hearts melts. And his does too. Whenever Steve travels, Holly cries when she has to say goodbye to him. And she really misses him the entire time he’s gone. Allison…
