While visiting with Jodi a few weeks ago, the kids started blowing up balloons. The most exciting part for me was Jodi showed me how to tie a balloon – I never knew how to do it but now I do!
They had a lot of fun with the balloons and as you can see from the picture, Holly figured out how to make the balloons stick to her head and now she is known as “Balloon Head”.
She’s cute no matter what!
Friends of mine set up a photo session for our family. It was gifted to me in September but with Steve having surgery in October, we never got around to doing it. Now that he’s in his last days, we knew we had to make it happen. The photographer was kind enough to come to our house and work with us in taking some pictures. I dressed us all in blue for colon cancer. And I love the results. We will treasure these photos forever!
Father Daughter Dance – My Favorite Picture of Holly I absolutely love this picture I took of Holly from the night of the Father Daughter Dance. She was more than happy to pose for me and this one was my favorite. I love her profile and how grown up she looks. She got this dress for her birthday back in November from Nana. When she opened it she immediately said that was the dress she wanted to wear to the Father Daughter Dance and she never changed her mind about it. While I was in California for the premiere of PLANES, I had a chance to visit the Disney store. It was so beautiful and I love walking through that store. We used to have one at the Warwick Mall but after the flood a few years ago, they never came back to the mall. So the closest one is at the Emerald Square mall. When I told Holly and Allison that I went to the Disney Store while in California, they asked if we could go to one someday before the summer was over. Of course I said yes. It’s been two years since I’ve updated this blog. My other blog KouponKaren.com took off like crazy so this sort of got pushed to the back burner AND Facebook is so much easier to update with pictures of the kids and what we’ve been up too. But I have all this stuff here, just sitting in space, of them when they were babies so I will be updating this from time to time. I love these two girls! This is my surfer girl in one of her cute bikini’s….. it has zebra print on it – of course! And my swimmer girl who still dances even in the pool! We lived in southern RI/CT for about 12 years. We’ve been parents for about 8 years and we have driven by the Essex Steam train hundreds of times but we never took the girls on the train until this Spring. We knew we’d be moving further away and it would make it even more of a distance so we made sure we set aside some time while packing to take them. I’m glad we did – they loved it! It’s not the train to New York, which they really want to take with Mommy some day, but it was still a nice, fun train ride. It reminded me of when I was in 6th grade.
