Well we’ve realized that we should start trying to Potty Train Holly. Not exactly sure how to go about it but the first step was to open the box with the Potty that’s been sitting in my dining room for 2 months now. So last night I did exactly that, put it together and put it next to the toilet in the bathroom. When it was time for Holly’s bath I said to her… “Do you want to sit on the potty and do pee pee’s?” She got all excited sat down smiled for the camera and then got up. Then she went back, sat down, smiled for the camera again and then got up. We did this about 5 times without any pee pee’s. Maybe she didn’t have to go, maybe she doesn’t want to, maybe she has no idea what I’m talking about. So I figured I’d sit on the big potty next to her and show her what I mean. So mommy did pee pee’s on the big potty and Holly sat on her’s and just watched. Nothing. I know it’s day one and it will take time, but one could wish for a child that knows exactly what she’s supposed to do, right? So my plan right now is to take her in there every now and then through out the day and give it a whirl. I have to start somewhere, right?
Here’s a picture of her on the potty, so happy!!!
I also decided to try and cut Holly’s hair (in the front) during her bath tonight. It’s getting very long and wild and hangs down over her eyes by the end of the day. I have NEVER cut anyone’s hair before and had NO CLUE as to what I was doing, but I gave it a whirl. I figured, it can’t be that hard. I tried to keep her busy while I was trying to do it and I did a pretty good job at both, cutting and keeping her busy. I didn’t touch the back, that does need to be “shaped” a little, but I figured one step at a time. Here is a before and after shot. I think I did a pretty good job.
