  • The Rhode Show

    ByKaren March 1, 2012

Today I made an appearance on The Rhode Show to promote my book. I have a love/hate relationship with being on TV – I love doing it but I hate the part leading up to it.  But each time I do it, I’m happy afterwards. This is the third time I’ve been on The Rhode Show but this time it was taped LIVE!  I was a bit more nervous as this was my first LIVE appearance.   Of course it went well and I was very happy after it was over and I was walking out there. At one point in the middle of the interview (which lasted about 3 minutes long) I thought to myself “Oh My God, everyone is watching this right now, at…

  • How Did I Get Here?

    ByKaren February 26, 2012March 1, 2012

I’m sitting on the plane on my way home from Nashville, TN thinking to myself how did I get here??  I am returning home from Blissdom, a blogging conference that I’ve been wanting to go to for a few years,  and finally did.  I had a great time and connected with awesome people and brands. Blogging has become the best thing that ever happened to me, career wise and I’m so grateful for it.  It’s brought me so many great opportunities, emotionally and physically.  I started blogging in 2006 with this blog for my family, but then in 2008 I decided to start a second blog about saving money.  I had no idea that 3 years later it would explode the way it did and…

  • Goofy Kids and A Trip to New Hampshire

    ByKaren February 20, 2012March 2, 2012

The girls and I took a trip up to New Hampshire for the day on Presidents day since there was no school.  It happened to be Winter Vacation for us, but not for little David.  But since it was a holiday, he had no school on Monday. The girls were very excited to see David and Joey as I was excited to see my best friend Jodi. The ride went well, we had no traffic and the girls enjoyed it too, which is always a plus.   However after driving for 2+ hours, we were all happy to arrive. We had lunch and then the kids played while the moms chit chatted.   They all get along so great.  When we are all together I sit and…

  • Father Daughter Dance 2012

    ByKaren February 18, 2012March 1, 2012

Tonight was Holly’s 2nd Father Daughter dance and she has been waiting for this night. Not only is it a night for her and daddy, but it’s the last night it will be just her and daddy as Allison will be in Kindergarten next year and will be attending with them. So it was a special night for Holly and Daddy. It was also a special night for Allison as she got to go on a date with Mommy!  We went to dinner at Chili’s which is her favorite place to go to.  And she also got a special new dress to for our night out. Holly wasn’t feeling very well and was at the beginning stages of a cold and right before they left…

  • Allison’s Tool Belt

    ByKaren February 13, 2012March 1, 2012

I have a new babysitter that comes over on Mondays and Fridays for a few hours in the morning to play with Allison while I get a little work done.  Her name is Katie and she is really nice and Allison loves her! They were playing one day and Allison pulled out her tools – she LOVES her tools!  Katie made her an adorable tool belt.  She used a regular belt and put all her tools on it.  Allison absolutely loved it and she looked adorable, as usual.
