My mom went to Italy last month – alone! I’m so proud of her. She had a great time but was very homesick too, which I figured she would be but I’m so glad she went because she has a lot of family there. She had fun shopping and bought the girls these really pretty dresses….. This picture was taken outside Allison’s school the day before her last day. It was the best smile I was going to get!
We lived in southern RI/CT for about 12 years. We’ve been parents for about 8 years and we have driven by the Essex Steam train hundreds of times but we never took the girls on the train until this Spring. We knew we’d be moving further away and it would make it even more of a distance so we made sure we set aside some time while packing to take them. I’m glad we did – they loved it! This year for Mother’s Day we did something different and I loved it. It was very relaxed except for the part where my mom and I packed up about 6 boxes (we are moving in June!) but thaw was ok BECAUSE I’m super excited to be moving. So packing boxes on Mother’s Day was something I wanted to do! But we had breakfast with both sets of parents, and the girls of course at the Westerly Yacht Club and it was delicious! Then we just hung out at home, did a little packing and had a simple dinner of some burgers and hot dogs. Holly was so excited to go to the Father Daughter dance this year and last year and Allison can’t wait to go next year. It got me thinking of when I was little and went myself.
