Day Two of Spring Break School Vacation {Daddy’s Birthday}

It’s Day two of the girl’s Spring Break and today we celebrated my husband’s birthday.   We usually go out for dinner to celebrate a birthday but we couldn’t tonight because Holly had softball practice and Allison had soccer practice so since the girls are home today, we decided to take Daddy to lunch for his birthday.   He chose Gregg’s and no one minded.  They have a special on Tuesday that when you order from the regular menu you get a drink and a desert for an extra $3.50.  That’s a great deal since the drinks alone are $2.50 and the desserts are $6.  So we took two slices of cake home to celebrate daddy’s birthday after practice. Happy 43rd Birthday Steve!  xoxo Holly has…

Day One of Spring Break School Vacation {Shopping}

  We are on school vacation this week and I promised the girls we’d do at least one fun thing a day but I do still have to work.  They love going to the mall, well Holly does (Allison prefers to not walk around too much) and they had some Easter money burning a hole in their pockets so we had to go spend it! Plus I needed to go to the Cox Cable store in the mall so it worked out well. But first we had lunch with my dear friend Luann and her daughter who happened to be in the area today.  I was so happy she called me because she hasn’t seen the girls in a long time because we usually get…

Chemo is changing next month…

Steve saw his Oncologist today and his CEA is still going up, slowly but it’s going up.  Today it was 20.  In March it was 17 and in February it was 12.  So it’s moving up but that’s not the direction the doctor wants to see it go.  That means the cancer is also growing.  So it’s time to change chemo treatments. We are going on another family trip this month, this time out to California to Disneyland!!  The girls are VERY excited.  The doctor is going to wait until after our trip to change his chemo.  Tomorrow will be his last one on this type of chemo and then he’ll take a break so he’ll feel great on our trip. It’ll actually be a…

Chemo #17 today!

Today is Steve’s 17th chemo treatment.  It’s been a while since I’ve updated and I’m sorry about that.  Steve’s been bugging me to post an update but I’ve been busy shoveling snow, ice, snow again, then more snow and then even more snow, then I got up this morning and shovel MORE snow!!! You get the picture. I want to apologize because this snow is all my fault.  I think that mother nature is trying to see how far she can push me before I go over the edge.  I’m sorry to take you all on the ride with me.  Hopefully she’s satisfied and will stop. So how is Steve doing?  Steve started a new chemo to replace the Oxaliplatin.  For those of you that…

Time for our Annual Scrapbook Weekend – Girl’s Weekend

The fall doesn’t only bring back to school, football and cooler weather, but it also brings Scrapbook Weekend with my BFF Jodi!   I look forward to this weekend every single year.  We actually went earlier in the year during the winter as a bonus weekend (and hope to do that again in 2014) but I still couldn’t wait to go. Jodi and I plan this every year and we rent a hotel room that has two bedrooms and a kitchenette so we can cook all our meals as well.  We usually pig out big time but since we are both trying to eat healthier this year, we did really well with our meals.  But the main reason we are there is to scrapbook and I …
