School is Out and the Pool is Open

Summer Fun

School is out and this is what we did the first day of school vacation.  My girls are like fish and they love being in the pool and oddly enough I’m enjoying it this summer too.  Not sure why.  Perhaps it’s because we have neighbors that enjoy swimming with us as well?  It’s always fun with friends.  Or maybe it’s just because I’ve slowed down so I can enjoy myself more?  I don’t really know but I have a feeling by the time summer is over we are all going to be completely water-logged from all the swimming.

But see the happy look on her face?  That’s what I enjoy the most.  She’s swimming up a storm and just enjoying herself.  This is what parenting is all about.

Holly’s Pre-K Graduation

Father Daughter Dance 2012

Tonight was Holly’s 2nd Father Daughter dance and she has been waiting for this night. Not only is it a night for her and daddy, but it’s the last night it will be just her and daddy as Allison will be in Kindergarten next year and will be attending with them. So it was a special night for Holly and Daddy. It was also a special night for Allison as she got to go on a date with Mommy!  We went to dinner at Chili’s which is her favorite place to go to.  And she also got a special new dress to for our night out. Holly and David – The Love Birds

A cute picture of the Love Birds.  They are so funny because they absolutely adore each other but yet while David was visiting the other day, I had to keep reminding Holly to play with him!  It was funny. Whenever we mention David’s name, Holly’s face lights up.  Can you tell by the look in her eye’s in this picture?  It’ll be funny to see if they feel the same way as they get older.

A Trip to the Disney Store at the Emerald Square Mall

While I was in California for the premiere of PLANES, I had a chance to visit the Disney store.  It was so beautiful and I love walking through that store.  We used to have one at the Warwick Mall but after the flood a few years ago, they never came back to the mall.  So the closest one is at the Emerald Square mall.  When I told Holly and Allison that I went to the Disney Store while in California, they asked if we could go to one someday before the summer was over.  Of course I said yes. The Easter Bunny Came!

We spend Easter at my inlaws but the Easter Bunny always finds us there.  One year he left us seeds to grow lolipops and he knew we’d be there so he left them there. Once again he left them some fun baskets only this year they weren’t as big as normal because the Easter Bunny hurt it’s foot and couldn’t hop along as well to gather more stuff for the baskets.  But he did leave chocolate balls all over the fireplace and the girls LOVED That.  We thought maybe they were Easter Bunny droppings but thankfully they turned out to be delicious chocolate eggs.  WHEW! I didn’t get a picture of the girls dressed up but did manange to snap a few pictures of them…

Seeing Santa 2012

I am not a big fan of the mall or the craziness that is happening there at the holidays.  Plus we don’t live close enough to one to make me want to drag the girls there to take a picture.  Call me lazy – but I just hate that place at the holidays!  So I’m happy that we now belong to the Westerly Yacht club and each year they have a children’s christmas party and Santa is there, of course! Holly’s getting kind of big to sit on Santa’s lap but she still wants to and I think it’s cute.  Allison doesn’t seem to be phased by him the last two years so I’ve been able to get her to sit on his lap.
