6 Month Pictures

We’ve all been sick. First Allison, then Mommy, then Holly and finally Steve. The wonderful stomach and intestinal bug……… fun fun fun. We have been just lying around the house for a few days. I felt really bad for the girls, they were not themselves, but they were still cute. Steve took some pictures of the girls sharing the couch. Holly smiled, but Allison just couldn’t. On Friday Holly went to get her bangs cut (I can’t believe how fast this kids hair grows!!) and I decided to have Betsy take off about 2 1/5 inches from the back. She complains all the time when I brush it because it’s getting really knotty as it gets longer and also in the winter it gets very flyaway with the cold air so less hair to fly away. Holly really didn’t mind cutting a bit and it’s still long, just not as long. I think she looks cute. I know when my father sees it he won’t be happy, he loves long hair on little girls. When I was a kid, I had really long hair and for some reason ( I think…

Wednesday Holly and I had a Target shopping date with Jodi and Lil David. We had a very nice time and the kids were so good. At first Holly didn’t want David sitting in the car next to her but soon he was making her laugh and they really had a great time. All David wants to do is hold Holly’s hand, but she thinks wants to take her stuff (maybe he does sometimes) but most of the time he just wants to touch her and make her laugh. They are so cute together and they really do seem to enjoy each other. Whenever we were out of their site in Target you could hear Holly say “David, where are you??” it was too cute….

Orange Socks Holly hasn’t quite gotten to the point that she picks out the cloths she wants to wear but I know those moments are approaching us quickly after this weekend. I keep her socks in the top draw of the changing table and lately whenever we get dressed, she has to open the draw and insists that I put socks on her, even though I may not be putting shoes on her, she wants socks. Ok, that’s fine, I usually pick out a pair to match her outfit and give them too her. She tries first to put them on, then I finish the job and we are happy. Well yesterday she decided she was going to pick out the color of the socks…

Well yesterday was day 2 and it looks like there will be may days to go…of course I need to be patient, but how come she didn’t come potty trained?? LOL Back to yesterday. I asked her before she got dressed if she wanted to go on the potty and of course she got all excited and ran to the bathroom. We got undressed, sat down, smiled, got up, closed the cover to the potty, opened it, sat down, smiled, got up, closed the cover, opened it, sat down, smiled got up..etc. She just kept repeating the process over and over. Finally some pee’s came out but she got up while she was in the process and it was in the potty, on the seat…

Allison is a full fledged walker now and even tries to run at times. She no longer crawls! She started walking a bit right after her 1st Birthday and each week it got more and more and for about 10 days now it’s been a full time thing for her. We love to watch her walk, she waddles a bit still but is very steady. Her run is a really fast walking and it’s amazing she doesn’t fall over. Here is a video I took of her tonight walking back and forth down the hall to her room. I guess she was ‘dancing’ to the music and kept coming back to turn it on. She’s so cute. Holly had to get in on the action…
