  • Big Summer Adventure – Getting Their Ears Pierced

    Holly has been hesitant for a while about getting her ears pierced.  But when she noticed her friend Katie had her ears pierced and had mickey mouse earrings, she decided she definitely wanted her’s done.  We had to wait until the summertime because her dance recital was at the end of the school year and she can’t wear earrings during the recital.  She was OK with this because that gave her time to digest the fact that she was going to do it. I am traveling for a bit this summer so in between my trips, Steve thought it would be a good idea to take Holly to have her ears pierced because she had mentioned a few times she really was ready to do…

  • School is Out and the Pool is Open

    School is out and this is what we did the first day of school vacation.  My girls are like fish and they love being in the pool and oddly enough I’m enjoying it this summer too.  Not sure why.  Perhaps it’s because we have neighbors that enjoy swimming with us as well?  It’s always fun with friends.  Or maybe it’s just because I’ve slowed down so I can enjoy myself more?  I don’t really know but I have a feeling by the time summer is over we are all going to be completely water-logged from all the swimming. But see the happy look on her face?  That’s what I enjoy the most.  She’s swimming up a storm and just enjoying herself.  This is what parenting…

    Father Daughter Dance – My Favorite Picture of Holly I absolutely love this picture I took of Holly from the night of the Father Daughter Dance.  She was more than happy to pose for me and this one was my favorite.  I love her profile and how grown up she looks. She got this dress for her birthday back in November from Nana.  When she opened it she immediately said that was the dress she wanted to wear to the Father Daughter Dance and she never changed her mind about it.  I am so glad she decided to wear this one because it was so ‘her’ and looked awesome on her.   • Holly’s First Communion

    Holly’s First Communion Holly made her first communion this weekend and she looked absolutely beautiful.  She told me after she got dressed that she felt like she was getting married.   After her saying that I couldn’t keep that thought out of my head and when we were in church I thought of it and had even more tears in my eyes.  Before we know it, we’ll be back there with her in a white dress again. But the ceremony was beautiful and I love the new church we belong too.  Holly also did a little reading and she did so awesome.  We were so proud of her and it was a beautiful day!   • The Easter Bunny Came!

    We spend Easter at my inlaws but the Easter Bunny always finds us there.  One year he left us seeds to grow lolipops and he knew we’d be there so he left them there. Once again he left them some fun baskets only this year they weren’t as big as normal because the Easter Bunny hurt it’s foot and couldn’t hop along as well to gather more stuff for the baskets.  But he did leave chocolate balls all over the fireplace and the girls LOVED That.  We thought maybe they were Easter Bunny droppings but thankfully they turned out to be delicious chocolate eggs.  WHEW! I didn’t get a picture of the girls dressed up but did manange to snap a few pictures of them…
