Moving Day………

Today was moving day, for Holly at least. We finally finished painting her new room and it’s all ready for her. We began by moving her crib into the room this morning, boy was that fun. We were really hoping not to have to take the entire crib apart but we had to unassemble quite a bit of it to get it through the doors. Live and Learn. We’ve decided to move her with the crib first and then when she is nice and settled in there, we’ll get her a bed.

Then we had to break for haircuts. Steve and Holly both needed haircuts so we went to see Betsy today. This was the first time we were attempted to have someone cut Holly’s hair. I’ve been doing it myself but I’m not doing a great job so we needed to call in the professional. First Steve got his hair cut, then it was Holly’s turn. She did not want to sit on Steve’s lap so Betsy sat on the floor with her. That worked for Holly. She loved getting her hair sprayed with water and she sat very well for Betsy. She did get a little antsy after a little while but there wasn’t much to cut. She just trimmed her bangs and evened off the back. The rest we are letting grow. We were so proud of her, she even got some M&M;’s for sitting so nicely. Here are some pictures of her haircut………

When we got back home, we began filling Holly’s room with all the fun things she got for Christmas. It was like Christmas morning all over again. First we opened up her Easel that she received from Uncle John and Auntie Kara. Well she LOVED it!!! She immediately started putting the magnectic ABCD’s (that is what she calls them) up on the board. What fun she had!

The we moved onto the Dora Vanity/Desk that she received from Jodi, Dave and Lil David. She helped mommy and daddy put it together, she’s such the little helper. We all absolutly loved this!! It’s perfect for her. And it’s a good size that will last her a while. She got right up on the chair and began looking in the mirror. It was so cute!!!

Finally we began to open up her gift from Nana and Poppa. The Dora castle with all the works. Once again she wanted to help mommy and daddy take everything out of the box. She really is a good helper. She was so excited as we began pulling out all the pieces. It was so much fun to see her excitment. Makes all the work worth it. Once we got it all out, we noticed that the castle comes with a magic wand that opens up things when you pass over the stars. It really is the neatest thing. We showed her how to do it and she loved it.

That’s about it for today. Tomorrow we need to get the draws from downstairs for her dresser (I still need to empty them out) and we’ll begin moving some of her cloths over. We still have some stuff in the closet we need to find new homes for, but within the next few days we’ll get that done. I haven’t bought curtains yet because I’m trying to decide on bedding for her new bed so until then she will remain curtainless. We also have a few things to hang up on the wall and we need to buy her a lamp for her dresser too. This was the bulk of it, and when it’s all done I will surely post more pictures. For now, this is what her room looks like.

Bedtime went pretty good. She didn’t seem to mind as we put her to bed, but once we shut the door she began to cry. After a little while mommy went in and told her it was ok and turned on her music again. Then she cried for a little while more so daddy went in and told her that this was her new room because she was a big girl and baby sister was going to have her old room and it was ok, mommy and daddy were here and she was fine, she had pink teddy and baby doll and her dora pillow so all was good. That seemed to work because she hasn’t made a peep since then. Here’s a picture of her in her new room (in her old crib LOL).
