The Washington County Fair

We got a lot of snow yesterday. There is probably about 7 inches. That’s a lot to shovel. But my man did the job and he’s now exhausted! He did really good since we need room to put a few cars this coming week for Christmas. We have a stone driveway (most of you know that) and we really hope to get it paved in 2010. The gals on Personal Scrapper have posted a Blog challenge to help us blog more often. The first challenge is to post a favorite photo and why it’s our favorite. Now those of you that know me, know I take a TON of pictures. As a matter of fact since Holly was born I’ve taken over 7760 pictures. Today was moving day, for Holly at least. We finally finished painting her new room and it’s all ready for her. We began by moving her crib into the room this morning, boy was that fun. We were really hoping not to have to take the entire crib apart but we had to unassemble quite a bit of it to get it through the doors. Live and Learn. We’ve decided to move her with the crib first and then when she is nice and settled in there, we’ll get her a bed. Then we had to break for haircuts. I keep trying with the barrette’s and pony tails and the more I try, the longer she keeps them in. Maybe someday we will be up to an entire day! The thing is, she looks so cute especially with pig tails, if only she’d keep them in. Recently one morning when I washed her hair, she actually asked me to put some things in her hair. I took this opportunity to give her pig tails. I always wore my hair in pig tails when I was little and I’d love to do that with Holly (now if only her hair would grow more, that would help). She looked so adorable!!!! Finally, Holly is getting into letting us read to her. She’s always enjoyed her books…

I did a digital layout tonight of Holly’s Year in Review. There are some of my favorite pictures from each month of 2006. It’s amazing how much she changed from January to December. She no longer has that “baby” look, she’s all toddler, and boy is she ever!

We have these absolutely BEAUTIFUL flowers out front along the road that we have NO IDEA what they are (the previous owner planted them). I’ve even had people stop and ring my bell asking me what they were. They are HUGE and they really do catch your eyes. Well my mother in law showed some one a picture and they told her they were Hibiscus. At first I wasn’t sure when I looked in my BIG BOOK OF FLOWERS but then I did some research online and found out there are about 200 different species of Hisbiscus and with further research I found the ones we have.
