Holly’s New Coat

Holly has gone through a few coats this winter.  The one she had from last year that fortunately still fit her, was taken from Gymnastics (I’m sure by accident) and never returned.  Then I bought her a nice one at JCPenny which she didn’t like but she had to wear anyways.  And then she got a new one for her birthday that she liked better.

In the end she didn’t like either one of them and conveniently broke the zipper on one of them.  LOL  I think these kids sometimes are smarter than me.

Fortunately, I had just received an email about reviewing a Rothschild Coat. so I was happy to not have to buy her another coat.  The only thing was I didn’t get a choice of coats, only size – so I had no idea what they were sending me.  And in the meantime, the cold weather has sort of slipped away here in New England so I wasn’t even sure we’d be able to use the coat they sent me.

Well, we got lucky.  They sent her this adorable windbreaker and it was perfect for the weather we are having.  It fit her perfectly and she zipped it right up and was so excited about her new jacket.

“Girlie” Cousins

My cousin Mia turned 50 this month and Danielle hosted a little birthday party at Twin Oaks.  She had no idea and was very surprised (and happy!) when she arrived and realized she wasn’t having dinner with just Danielle. We had a nice dinner and it was good to be together as a family.  It was also a great opportunity to get a picture of all the ‘girl’ cousins since they’ve all grown so much.  I look at Danielle, Stephanie and Alyssa and I remember the days they were born, as if it were yesterday. And then I laugh at myself thinking I must be old because that’s what old people say when they see kids! But it’s true – they are all grown up…

Holly and David – The Love Birds

A cute picture of the Love Birds.  They are so funny because they absolutely adore each other but yet while David was visiting the other day, I had to keep reminding Holly to play with him!  It was funny. Whenever we mention David’s name, Holly’s face lights up.  Can you tell by the look in her eye’s in this picture?  It’ll be funny to see if they feel the same way as they get older.

Bob and Melissa’s Visit Over Winter Break

Our friends Bob and Melissa have added to their family over the past year.  They welcomed a Foster Daughter into their home that happens to be the same age as Holly and Melissa delivered baby Lauren in June to make them a family of 4! Over the Christmas break they drove up from PA to visit for a few days with us.  This was the second time we met the girls and Holly and Allison were very excited to have Trinity over to play with their toys and have a sleep over. The girls got along great and became fast friends. It snowed while they were visiting so the kids had fun playing in the snow together too.  It was a short but nice visit…

Family Pictures

Friends of mine set up a photo session for our family.  It was gifted to me in September but with Steve having surgery in October, we never got around to doing it.  Now that he’s in his last days, we knew we had to make it happen.  The photographer was kind enough to come to our house and work with us in taking some pictures. I dressed us all in blue for colon cancer.  And I love the results.  We will treasure these photos forever!

Mystic Aquarium

This weekend we visited Mystic Aquarium. We received free press passes, I just have to blog about our trip. Easy enough considering it saved us over $100!! Yup you read that right, had we paid for all four of us it would of cost us over $100. $28 per adult and $20 per child 3 and over so we would of had to pay for Allison too. Plus they charged $3.00 to go on the Voyage adventure (Holly and I went) and then $3.00 each for us to feed the birds (we got 3 sticks of food). Total = $111 for 3 hours. Steve would of never paid it, I said we would of because the girls enjoyed it, but I’m glad we didn’t! lol…
